The Stonewall National Monument in New York City’s Greenwich Village became the first US national monument dedicated to LGBTQ history in 2016. It’s across the street from the Stonewall Inn, where a rebellion against a police raid on June 28, 1969, helped spark the LGBTQ rights movement. The first rainbow flag to fly daily on federal land was dedicated at the Stonewall National Monument on June 1, 2022. June 24 marked the groundbreaking for the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center, expected to open in summer 2024.

Elon Musk and his first wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson, had twins in 2004, followed by triplets in 2006, before divorcing in 2008. They officially share custody of their children. Musk reportedly had another set of twins in November 2021, with Shivon Zilis, a director at one of his companies, according to court documents published on July 6, 2022. The world’s wealthiest person also has two children with Claire Boucher, better known as the musician Grimes.

Why was Musk’s child in the news in 2022?

One of Musk’s twins, the former Xavier Alexander Musk, having just turned 18, has filed a request to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson. Along with her new gender identity, she explained, “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” according to court documents available online through PlainSite.org.

Tesla raised prices for all its car models in the United States on June 16, 2022, as the costs of raw materials such as aluminum and lithium surged due to an industry-wide shortage. The Tesla Model “Y long-range” price increased to $65,990 from $62,990. It’s the fourth price increase since Jan. 2022 for some Tesla models.

What happened in the 2022 NBA Finals?

On June 16, 2022, Stephen Curry won his first NBA Finals MVP award. He is the only player in NBA history to average at least five 3-pointers per game in the Finals – repeating the record in 2018 and 2022. Curry’s 31 3-pointers in 2022 were the most in a six-game series in any NBA Finals.

The auction of Muratov’s medal broke the record for any Nobel medal auctioned off. Previously, the most ever paid for a Nobel Prize medal was in 2014, when James Watson, whose co-discovery of the structure of DNA earned him a Nobel Prize in 1962, sold his award for $4.76 million.

A new feature in Apple’s iOS 16 and the upcoming version of macOS, called “automatic verification,” will allow sites to verify that you are not a robot without “captchas.”
