Speaking during an appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," former President Barack Obama said:  "When I came into office, I asked, is there a lab somewhere where we're keeping the alien specimens and spaceship?. They did a little bit of research, and the answer is no.”

“What is true, and I'm actually being serious here,” said the former US President in the interview, “is there's footage and records of objects in the skies that we don't know exactly what they are. We can't explain how they moved, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern." Obama added that the US investigates these sightings, but there is "nothing to report" at the moment. Watch the interview.

On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, Demi Lovato revealed in a YouTube video launching their new weekly podcast series "4D With Demi Lovato,"  they identify as nonbinary, telling fans the decision came after “self-reflective work.” The singer recently shared their personal struggles with mental health and addiction in a YouTube documentary, which followed their journey before and following a near-fatal overdose in 2018.

“The Me You Can’t See” is a new docu-series co-created by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry for Apple TV+ that explores mental health and emotional well-being with stories from people around the world.

The prince shared the trailer for “The Me You Can’t See” during Mental Health Awareness Month on May 17, 2021. He talked about how important it is for people to seek help for their mental health struggles. Watch the trailer (with a cute cameo by Meghan Markle and their son, Archie.)

On Monday, May 17, 2021, Darwin's Arch in the Galapagos Islands lost its top. Ecuador's Environment Ministry reported the collapse on its social streams and stated that "this event was a consequence of natural erosion."

Comedian Colin Jost slimed wife Scarlett Johansson for her Generation Award at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards in Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards style. "MTV, you got slimed," said Jost. "That's Nickelodeon," Johansson blurted. "I'm very, very sorry," he said, as he promised to "get a towel." Watch it.

After the rover deployment, the orbiter would serve as a telecommunications relay for the rover while conducting its orbital observations of Mars.
